The sun had just started to set when Jack arrived at the Halloween party. He had barely begun to enjoy the festivities, dancing and mingling with friends, when he felt an unmistakeable pull in his stomach that set his heart racing. Across the room, he could just make out the striking figure of Anna, who had been his love interest ever since he first met her. He felt himself start to move towards her without thinking, and soon he was standing before her.

Anna, who looked especially stunning tonight dressed as a vampire, smiled up at him warmly. The pull in his stomach intensified as Jack gazed into her eyes, and before he could think about it he was leaning down to kiss her. The kiss was like nothing he'd ever felt before and scared him, but he couldn't pull away. Suddenly his senses sharpened and he smelled the unmistakeable scent of blood, and he realized what he had dreaded all along - Anna was a vampire.

Jack quickly pulled away and his heart sank with disappointment and regret. He knew that as a werewolf, he and Anna could never be together. While he could choose to ignore the truth of what he was, he would have to face the reality of the situation - he was a werewolf and Anna was a vampire. He wished so much that the world could be different, that the two of them could be together the way they wanted, but he knew it was impossible.

The whole party seemed to vanish in a flash, and Jack turned and ran outside. He wanted to forget what he knew, forget that love between vampires and werewolves was considered impossible, but he couldn't. No matter how much he wished it weren't true, Jack was a werewolf and Anna wasnt the same as he was, and no matter what he did, they would never be together.
